Thomas Bellinck

Thomas Bellinck is a Brussels-based artist who works in the theatre space, as well as in other contexts such as penitentiary and psychiatric institutions. With his theatre company Steigeisen and often in close collaboration with KVS, the Royal Flemish Theatre in Brussels, he has created several documentary plays, often addressing the divide between history and historiography and different types of (systemic) violence in times of revolution, war, peace and commemoration. Apart from his work in the theatre, he has built a historical-futuristic museum about life in the former European Union, which was presented at the Wiener Festwochen and the International Film Festival in Rotterdam and is set to reopen in Athens in 2016. Thomas is currently also working on a TV-series about the concurrence of labour migration, industrial agriculture and pollution at the Southern fringe of Europe.
