Hanna Parry (b. 1987) is a creative producer from Helsinki, Finland. She has a master’s degree in theatre studies for which she first studied literature at the University of Jyväskylä followed by theatre and film studies at the University of Helsinki and Paris Sorbonne III. For her master’s thesis she researched the political influence of theatre in the British context.
Hanna started working with performance arts ten years ago, first as assistant director at Jyväskylä City Theatre. As part of her studies she served an internship with the leading Finnish contemporary dance group Tero Saarinen Company and continued broadening her professional experience by working for festivals presenting various art forms. Organizations she has worked for include for example DocPoint Documentary Film Festival, Stage – Theatre Festival and American Realness (New York). Between 2012–2016 she worked as a producer at Helsinki Festival, the biggest arts festival in Finland where her work focused on performative arts and big public space events. Currently Hanna is the production manager of Baltic Circle Festival and producer of Cirko – Center for New Circus. She is responsible for Cirko Festival, the largest contemporary circus festival in the Nordic countries. In addition to production she now works closely in curating and programme planning.
